The Legal Side of Social Media Hiring

Erin Schulte Swanson has been invited by Medi-Sota to present a seminar on the legal side of social media hiring.  Medi-Sota is an alliance of rural health care organizations working together to strengthen the delivery of health care services in rural parts of southwest Minnesota.

On June 19, 2012, Erin will present a 90-minute seminar on the legal issues employers should consider when using social media to hire and screen employees.  Attendees will receive the following benefits:

a.  Learn how to draft social media job postings that comply with state and federal law;
b.  Discover strategies for screening job applicants that will minimize applicants’ claims of discrimination or other rights violations;
c.  Learn key points for managing employee use of social media through the implementation and enforcement of a social media policy; and
d.  Develop tactics for reducing employer liability for employee posts on social media sites.
